Syringa Boomerang Dark Purple

Reblooming Lilac

Bloomerang Dark Purple lilac (Syringa ‘SMSJBP7’) forms a rounded shrub with deep purple, fragrant flower clusters. A spring display is followed by a resting period, then another flowering cycle on new growth in summer and fall.

The repeat bloom extends the lilac season around patios and mixed borders. Healthy new shoots are important for the later display, and this selection is also valued for improved resistance to common foliage diseases.

Provide full sun and well-drained soil. Water during dry spells and mulch the root area. If pruning is necessary, do it just after the spring flowers fade to preserve the next spring’s buds.
