‘Saturn’ is a distinctive deciduous fruit tree known for its flattened, donut-shaped peaches with pale yellow to pink-blushed skin and sweet, melting white flesh. The fruit is low-acid, aromatic, and especially popular for fresh eating, desserts, and preserves. In spring, the tree produces showy pink to double-pink blossoms before green foliage develops, followed by an early-season crop of unique saucer-shaped fruit. ‘Saturn’ is also listed under names such as Stark Saturn, Donut, Saucer, Peento, and N.J. F-2.

The sweet white flesh has a mild, rich flavor and is commonly grown for fresh-market and home-orchard use.

Care:
Plant in full sun with good air circulation. Prune annually during dormancy to maintain an open-center shape, control height, and encourage productive 1-year-old wood. Thin young fruit after set to improve fruit size and reduce limb breakage. Because ‘Saturn’ blooms early, avoid frost pockets and choose a protected site in colder climates. Watch for peach leaf curl, brown rot, borers, bacterial spot, plum curculio, and oriental fruit moth.

Pollination:
Self-fertile, so one tree can produce fruit; nearby peach or nectarine varieties may improve overall fruit set.
