'Red Pointe' Maple

Acer rubrum ‘Redpointe’ is a newer narrow, upright red maple selected for its strong central leader, uniform branching, and excellent structural strength. It was developed to improve upon older columnar red maples, offering better branch angles and reduced breakage.

Spring brings small red flowers, followed by dark green, glossy foliage that forms a dense, vertical summer canopy. In fall, ‘Redpointe’ turns bright cherry-red to scarlet, often with very consistent color throughout the tree. Its tight, pyramidal habit makes it especially valuable in space-limited sites.

‘Redpointe’ performs best in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a wide range of soils, including moist and moderately compacted urban soils. It shows excellent tolerance to heat, cold, and city conditions.
