Herbaceous Peony

Paeonia lactiflora ‘Pink Parfait’ is a herbaceous perennial peony with large, fully double, soft pink to vibrant pink flowers. The blooms have rounded guard petals and many ruffled inner petals, often showing silvery petal edges. It is mildly fragrant, late-season, and has stronger stems than the similar classic peony ‘Sarah Bernhardt’. The American Peony Society lists it as a robust grower, about 33 inches tall, with no stamens or pollen.

Features & Landscape Uses:
Excellent for perennial borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, specimen planting, mass planting, and mixed sunny beds. ‘Pink Parfait’ is especially useful where you want a soft pink, double peony similar to ‘Sarah Bernhardt’ but with stronger stems and a slightly cleaner, more upright garden habit. It is also a good cut flower because of its large, fragrant blooms and strong stems.

Care:
Plant peony eyes about 1–2 inches below the soil surface; planting too deeply can reduce flowering. Provide good air circulation and water at the base when possible. Remove spent flowers after bloom, but leave foliage through summer so it can feed the roots. Cut stems to the ground after frost in fall and remove old foliage from the garden. Peonies are long-lived and usually do not need frequent division.
