Picea abies 'Cupressina'
Cupressina Norway Spruce
Cupressina Norway Spruce (Picea abies ‘Cupressina’) gives the garden a tall, narrow column of evergreen foliage. Its closely arranged branches angle upward, keeping the outline much slimmer than ordinary Norway spruce. Dark green needles can take on a slightly blue-green tone in winter.
The upright form brings height to a border without the broad skirt of a typical spruce. It works as a strong individual accent or a spaced screen, with room for the tree to continue growing upward. Its naturally narrow shape is the main attraction through every season.
Grow in sun with moist, well-drained soil. Cool summers suit Norway spruce best; avoid waterlogged sites and prolonged drying while roots establish.
