Parsons Norway Spruce (Picea abies ‘Gregoriana Parsonsii’) has thick green needles, tan shoots and conspicuous brown buds. Its open branching and uneven outline give this evergreen a rugged character that suits an informal conifer planting.

The crown becomes broad and upright as it grows. Compared with the closely related ‘Gregoriana’, its needles are longer and flatter and the branching is less tightly packed. Give it space beside rocks or lower plants so the structure remains visible.

Grow in sun with moist, well-drained soil. Cool summers suit Norway spruce best; avoid waterlogged sites and prolonged drying while roots establish.
