Little Gem Norway Spruce (Picea abies ‘Little Gem’) forms a small, dense cushion of green needles. Numerous short shoots create a fine, close texture, giving this dwarf conifer a rounded outline that remains attractive throughout the year.
Growth is restrained, making it useful near the front of a conifer collection or among stones where a larger spruce would overwhelm the space. Its low silhouette also provides a quiet evergreen anchor beside seasonal perennials. Allow the cushion to broaden naturally.
Grow in sun with moist, well-drained soil. Cool summers suit Norway spruce best; avoid waterlogged sites and prolonged drying while roots establish.
