Sharpleaf Norway Spruce (Picea abies ‘Mucronata’) is a compact evergreen with dark green needles and sturdy shoots. Large brown buds stand out at the branch tips, adding detail to its dense, uneven mound.
Young plants develop slowly. With age, stronger upright shoots and several competing leaders can turn the mound into a broader, taller specimen. Allow for this change in shape when placing it among smaller conifers or near a garden path.
Grow in sun with moist, well-drained soil. Cool summers suit Norway spruce best; avoid waterlogged sites and prolonged drying while roots establish.
