Picea pungens 'Baby Blue Eyes'
Baby Blue Eyes Spruce
Baby Blue Eyes Colorado Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Baby Blue Eyes’) forms a dense pyramid covered in clear blue needles. Its closely branched crown concentrates the foliage color and gives the tree a full appearance while young.
Growth is more restrained than that of many full-size blue spruces, but it continues beyond the first decade. Use the ten-year measurement as a planning guide, with additional room for later development. This named cultivar is distinct from variable seed-grown plants sold simply as Baby Blue.
Plant in sun with well-drained soil and water during establishment. Cool, relatively dry climates suit Colorado spruce better than hot, humid summers.
