Picea pungens 'Bakeri'
Baker Colorado Spruce
Baker Blue Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Bakeri’) develops a broad cone of long, dark silver-blue needles. The substantial foliage and evenly rising crown give it the presence of a full-size landscape spruce.
This cultivar should be allowed to grow as a tree. Its ten-year dimensions describe an early stage, with continued height and spread in later decades. An open specimen position lets the lower branches retain their blue color and full outline.
Plant in sun with well-drained soil and water during establishment. Cool, relatively dry climates suit Colorado spruce better than hot, humid summers.
