Blue Totem Colorado Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Blue Totem’) is a blue-needled evergreen with a narrow, upright outline. Its columnar to slender pyramidal form gives a border a clear vertical accent without the broad silhouette of a typical blue spruce.

The American Conifer Society places it in the intermediate growth class, so it should be given room to develop beyond a young plant’s dimensions. Its strongest effect comes from the combination of blue foliage and height, especially against rounded green shrubs.

Plant in sun with well-drained soil and water during establishment. Cool, relatively dry climates suit Colorado spruce better than hot, humid summers.
