Dietz Prostrate Blue Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Dietz Prostrate’) creates a dense groundcover with strongly blue needles. Its low framework spreads sideways, supplying the color of a blue spruce without a tall crown.
The broad, shallow outline works well near rocks or at the front of a conifer planting. Keep taller neighbors behind it so the close-textured foliage can be seen across the full width of the plant.
