Globose Dwarf Blue Spruce
Globe Blue Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Globosa’) forms a dense young mound of silver-blue needles. Its short, closely spaced shoots create a strong patch of evergreen color that stands out beside green shrubs and stonework.
Although rounded when young, this cultivar can develop an upright leader and become a broader, taller conifer. Removing vigorous vertical shoots helps retain a low globe. Plan for continued growth even when using it as a compact accent.
Plant in sun with well-drained soil and water during establishment. Cool, relatively dry climates suit Colorado spruce better than hot, humid summers.
