Pieris japonica 'Variegata'
Japanese Pieris
Variegated Japanese Pieris (Pieris japonica ‘Variegata’) carries green leaves outlined in white. The pale margins may take on pink tones in spring, giving the new foliage a soft flush of color.
Drooping clusters of white flowers add another detail, although bloom can be lighter than on other pieris selections. Its dense evergreen growth makes a useful accent beside plain green shrubs.
Provide moist, acidic soil rich in organic matter, with good drainage, in sun or partial shade.
