Prunus laurocerasus rotundifolia
Round Laurel Laurocerasus
Rotundifolia cherry laurel is an upright evergreen shrub with a dense crown of glossy dark green leaves. Fragrant white flower spikes appear in mid to late spring. The cherry-like fruits turn from red to black as they ripen.
Use it for a substantial hedge or privacy screen in sun or partial shade. Plant in moist, well-drained soil; shallow chalk soil can cause yellowing leaves. Prune hedges in late spring or early summer.
