Faurier Pear
Fauriei Pear is a widespreading small tree or large shrub growing much wider than high. It has small white flowers blooming in early May after the foliage appears. It leafs out earlier and flowers later than other pear species. The 1/2 inch fruits turn black upon maturity and are not edible. The glossy foliage turn a spectacular orange to red fall color. It is not widely known and thus not readily available in the nursery trade.
