Scarlet Oak earns its place in a large landscape with deeply lobed, glossy foliage that can turn vivid red late in autumn. Its crown develops an open, rounded outline above a substantial trunk.
Small spring flowers are followed by acorns on mature trees. The tree supports many insects and provides food for birds and mammals, adding wildlife value to its shade and seasonal color.
