Marmo Maple

Acer × freemanii ‘Marmo’ is a fast-growing Freeman maple selected for its upright, well-structured form and consistent fall color. As a hybrid of red maple (Acer rubrum) and silver maple (Acer saccharinum), it combines vigor and adaptability with improved branch strength.

The tree develops a narrow oval to upright crown, making it useful where space is more limited than with broader Freeman maples. Foliage is medium green through summer, turning bright orange-red to red in fall, often with good uniformity across the canopy.

‘Marmo’ performs well in full sun to partial shade and adapts to a wide range of soils, including clay and periodically moist sites. It tolerates heat, urban conditions, and pollution and is hardy in USDA Zones 3–8.
