Rudbeckia hirta Maya
Maya Black Eyed Susan
Maya Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta ‘Maya’) produces full, double flowers with a rounded, almost cushion-like appearance. Golden yellow outer petals surround deeper reddish brown tones toward the center, bringing more texture to the bed than a single daisy flower.
Sturdy stems hold the blooms above green foliage. This short-lived annual or biennial is useful for seasonal planting, with flowers continuing from summer toward the first frosts when conditions remain favorable.
Grow as a seasonal annual in sun or light shade. Use reasonably fertile soil with good drainage, and water while plants establish.
