Weeping willow (Salix babylonica) produces a sweeping canopy of hanging branches and narrow leaves. It grows quickly in moist ground, but brittle wood and far-reaching roots make it unsuitable for cramped spaces near structures.
Its structure combines broad growth and a rounded outline. Growth is fast. The leaves are shed for winter. Autumn foliage can bring yellow tones.
Choose a site in full sun or partial shade. Provide well-drained soil and maintain even moisture. Site well away from buildings and underground services.
