Dappled Willow

Hakuro Nishiki dappled willow (Salix integra ‘Hakuro Nishiki’) produces pink new leaves that mature through cream, green, and pink variegation. The color is strongest in spring and early summer, with much of the foliage becoming greener later.

Slender branches droop at the tips, and young stems can develop red winter color. Regular selective pruning encourages fresh colored shoots and influences the size of this fast-growing shrub.

Grow in sun or partial shade with well-drained soil and regular water during establishment. Light pruning in late winter encourages fresh variegated shoots. Afternoon shade helps in hot summers.
