Caradonna perennial salvia (Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’) combines violet-blue flower spikes with dark purple stems. The upright floral lines stand clearly above a low clump of aromatic green foliage.
Its early-summer display adds vertical rhythm among rounded flowers and softer foliage. Removing spent stems can encourage another flush later in the growing season, extending its value in mixed borders.
Provide full sun and freely draining soil. Established plants tolerate dry periods, although occasional watering supports flowering. Cut back finished flower stems and avoid wet conditions around the crown.
