Blue Hill Salvia sends lilac-blue flower spikes above a compact leafy base through summer. The cool flower color is useful beside warmer blooms or repeated along the front of a mixed border.
The foliage releases an aromatic scent when handled. Flowers bring bees, butterflies and other garden visitors, and the stems can also be cut for small arrangements.
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. It tolerates heat and dry conditions after establishment; trimming after a flush of flowers encourages fresh growth and another display.
