May Night perennial salvia (Salvia ‘May Night’) carries rich violet-purple spikes above aromatic green leaves. Its compact clump supports a concentrated early- to midsummer display that pairs easily with pale flowers and fine-textured grasses.
The upright blooms provide a clear accent near the front or middle of a border. Bees and other flower visitors are drawn to the spikes, and trimming spent stems can encourage renewed flowering.
Plant in full sun with good soil drainage. Water while establishing and during prolonged dry weather when continued bloom is desired. Avoid heavy feeding and persistently wet soil.
