Himalayan Sweet Box makes a low evergreen layer beneath taller plants. Glossy, dark green leaves cover spreading stems, creating a dense planting that gradually expands into a colony.

Small cream-colored flowers are tucked among the leaves in late winter and early spring. Their fragrance is easier to notice than the blooms themselves, and shiny dark fruit adds a later detail.

Use rich, moist, well-drained soil in partial or full shade. Established plants can manage some dry periods.
