Sequoiadendron giganteum
Giant Sequoia
Giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is a long-lived conifer with a thick trunk and a strongly tapered crown. Even where garden growth is smaller than in its native range, it remains a tree requiring exceptional space.
Its structure combines a narrow, columnar outline and upright growth. Growth is fast. The foliage supplies a year-round framework.
Choose a sunny, open site. Provide acidic, well-drained soil and maintain even moisture.
