Spirea x bumalda 'Crispa'
Crisp Leaf Spirea
Crisp Leaf Spirea offers close-up detail as well as summer bloom. Its crumpled, sharply cut leaves give the shrub a textured surface, with reddish-purple young growth maturing to glossy dark green.
Deep pink flowers gather above the foliage in mid to late summer. The densely branched, upright plant works well where its unusual leaves can be seen along a path or near the front of a shrub border.
Plant in sun or light shade, in soil that retains some moisture but drains freely. This adaptable shrub fits readily among perennials and other flowering shrubs.
