Styrax japonicus 'Emerald Pagoda'
Emerald Pagoda Japanese Snowbell
Emerald Pagoda Japanese snowbell has unusually large leaves and flowers for its species. The white blossoms stand out against leathery dark green foliage, giving the tree a bolder appearance than typical snowbells.
Its structure combines a narrow, columnar outline and a tapered crown. Growth is slow. The leaves are shed for winter. Autumn foliage can bring yellow and red tones.
Choose a site in full sun or partial shade. Provide acidic, well-drained soil. A sheltered position with some daily shade is useful.
