Syringa vulgaris Aucubaefolia
Aucubaefolia Lilac
Aucubaefolia Lilac (Syringa vulgaris ‘Aucubaefolia’) pairs scented, lilac-blue flowers with foliage irregularly marked in yellow. Deep purple buds open into double or semi-double blooms.
The upright shrub becomes rounded as it develops. Its patterned leaves extend the ornamental effect beyond the flower display, making it useful as a foliage accent in a mixed border.
Grow in sun. Common lilacs generally perform well in cooler climates with neutral to lime-rich soil.
