Acer × freemanii ‘Autumn Fantasy’ is a fast-growing Freeman maple selected for its exceptionally reliable and vivid fall color. A hybrid of red maple (Acer rubrum) and silver maple (Acer saccharinum), it delivers the brilliant color of red maple with the adaptability and vigor of silver maple—without the weak branching.

Leaves are medium green in summer and turn intense shades of orange, scarlet, and bright red in fall, often coloring evenly across the canopy. The tree develops a uniform oval to rounded crown with a strong central leader and improved branch structure.

‘Autumn Fantasy’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a wide range of soils, including clay and occasionally wet sites. It tolerates heat and urban conditions and is hardy in USDA Zones 3–8.
