Shawnee Brave Taxodium

Shawnee Brave bald cypress, the cultivar Mickelson, has a tall, narrow pyramidal crown and soft green needles. The deciduous foliage turns rusty orange to red-brown in fall. Rounded seed cones mature brown.

Grow in full sun. It handles standing water as well as ordinary well-drained soil, but highly alkaline ground can cause yellowing leaves. Its slender crown can suit street and specimen plantings where there is adequate room for a large tree.
