Homestead elm is a fast-growing hybrid with upright, arching branches and a relatively narrow oval crown. Dark green summer leaves turn yellow in autumn, adding a seasonal display to its shade canopy.
The canopy loses its leaves for winter. Autumn color includes yellow. The grower reports tolerance of Dutch elm disease and phloem necrosis.
