Malus domestica 'Pink Lady' Dwarf

Pink Ladie Apple

Malus domestica ‘Pink Lady’ is a dwarf fruit tree grown for its firm, crisp, juicy apples with pink-red blush over green-yellow skin and a bright sweet-tart flavor. This deciduous apple tree has an upright to rounded habit, pink buds opening to white spring flowers, and very late-ripening fruit valued for fresh eating, salads, baking, and long storage. The cultivar is ‘Cripps Pink’, while Pink Lady® is the trademarked marketing name used for qualifying fruit.

Type: Dwarf fruit tree
Mature Size: 8–10' wide x 8–10' high
USDA Zones: 6a–9b
Form: Upright, rounded
Light: Full sun
Soil / Water: Fertile, well-drained soil / moderate, consistent moisture
Bloom Time / Length: Spring / 1–2 weeks
Wildlife: Bees and other pollinators attracted to spring flowers.

Features & Landscape Uses: Excellent for home orchards and edible landscapes where a compact tree and long-keeping fruit are wanted. Fruit ripens very late, often in late fall, and develops best color and flavor in warm, sunny climates. Another compatible apple nearby is recommended for better pollination and fruit set.

Care: Plant in full sun with good air circulation. Water regularly during establishment and during dry periods. Prune annually in late winter to maintain structure and fruiting wood, and thin heavy crops to improve fruit size and consistency.
