'My Monet' Weigela
My Monet weigela (Weigela florida ‘Verweig’) is a dwarf shrub with green leaves edged and splashed in white and pink. Pink spring flowers add another layer of color above its close, low mound.
Light affects the variegation: shade favors paler white markings, while stronger sun can bring more pink. Occasional later flowers are possible, but the patterned foliage remains its longest-lasting attraction.
Plant in well-drained soil with moderate moisture. Sun or partial shade is suitable; afternoon shade helps in warmer regions. Remove any shoots that revert to plain green and prune after flowering only if needed.
