newport Blue Boxwood

Boxwood that is suitable for traditional hedging and specimen planting of pyramidal form; holds pyramidal form with light seasonal shearing. We grow it as a pyramid, column and globe. A Wide, slow growing rounded boxwood growing on 2–5" a year.  Branches are stiff, more upright than other boxwood. The newport  blue grows pyramidal or oval-shaped with blue-green foliage. Discovered in the 1940s by Boulevard Nurseries in Newport, RI. Noe as hardy as some of of the other boxwoods and needs protection in the winter.
