Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Tamukeyama’ is a highly regarded weeping laceleaf Japanese maple prized for its exceptional red color retention and dramatic cascading form. Spring foliage emerges deep crimson to dark burgundy, holding its rich red coloration extremely well through summer—often better than many other red dissectum cultivars.

The finely dissected, threadlike leaves create a dense, flowing canopy as branches arch outward and downward, forming a broad, layered mound. In fall, ‘Tamukeyama’ delivers an intense display of brilliant scarlet and fiery red, making it one of the most reliable laceleaf maples for autumn color.

The habit is low, spreading, and strongly weeping, giving the plant a bold presence despite its relatively low height. It performs best in partial shade, with protection from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds, and prefers well-drained, evenly moist soil.
