Pyrus communis ?Clapp?s Favorite?
Clapps Favorite Pear
Clapp's Favorite Pear has upright growth and large yellow fruit with a red blush. Its fine-grained, sweet flesh suits fresh eating and canning. Harvest is generally in late August, ahead of Bartlett.
White flowers need pollen from a compatible pear variety for fruit production. Choose full sun and well-drained loam, with planting distances suited to the rootstock.
